Every year some of the most brilliant musical talent from Scotland and elsewhere in the UK emerges from St Mary's, which can number musicians of the stature of pianist Steven Osborne, conductor Garry Walker and cellist Philip Higham among its alumni. In this concert some of the specialist music school's senior pupils perform, solo and in ensembles, a wonderful, varied programme of instrumental and vocal music.

In this concert, some 25 of the renowned specialist music school's senior pupils perform a wonderful, varied programme of instrumental and vocal music, including movements from Mozart's A major Flute Quartet and his Horn Quintet; from Schubert's sublime String Quintet; from Milhaud's Sonata for flute, oboe, clarinet and piano; from Piazzola: Five Tango Sensations; Spohr's Songs for soprano, clarinet and piano; and "Leaving Grimsay" by S6 pupil Pàdrug Morrison, for string quartet, piano and accordion. The Causeway Trio also features accordion, together with guitar and piano/cajón.
