The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland's crack wind players offer a wonderful programme of music for wind octet, including one of the great masterpieces for winds, Mozart's E flat Serenade, and Beethoven's youthful octet.

Created in 2008 to promote outstanding talent from the conservatoire's woodwind department, Stevenson Winds performs under the direction of distinguished staff members such as SCO principal clarinet, Maximiliano Martin, former RSNO principal oboe, Emmanuel Laville and RSNO principal clarinet, John Cushing. The ensemble is named in memory of the influential benefactor Sir Daniel Stevenson (1853-1944). Passionate about music, Stevenson was instrumental in the creation of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music in 1929.
