Tom Harrold
String Quartet in D minor, Op 103
String Quartet No 1
Velvet Skies (Music Club Anniversary Commission)
String Quartet in E flat, Op 12

Having been coached by, among others, the Allegri, Belcea and Brodsky Quartets, Scotland's new young quartet are well placed to play an important role in our musical life. 20-year-old former Douglas Academy student Tom Harrold is another emerging Scottish talent who is already making his name, having won the BBC Proms/Guardian Young Composers' Competition in 2007. His short new piece, commissioned, for our 70th Anniversary, makes an exciting addition to this programme of great string quartets.

"An exciting group with a great future" Robert Irvine, Head of Chamber Music, RCS
